Troubleshooting
Solutions for common problems with the VitalSentinel SEO Extension, for example pages that it cannot check, missing headers, a missing Domain Rating and missing VitalSentinel data.
This page lists common problems with the VitalSentinel SEO Extension and what to do.
Before you start
- Make sure that the browser is Chrome or Microsoft Edge, version 120 or later.
- Many problems go away when you reload the page and open the popup again.
Reports
Why does the popup say "Open a website to see its report"?
The tab does not show an http or https page. The extension cannot check browser pages, the Chrome Web Store or local files. Open a website and click the VitalSentinel icon again.
Why does the popup say that it cannot check the page?
The popup shows this message when the page did not answer the extension. This occurs when the page is still loading, or when it was open before you installed the extension. Click Reload page. If the page loaded fully, click Try again.
Why does HTTP headers say "No response recorded for this page"?
The page loaded before the extension started, so the extension did not see its response. Click Reload page. The extension records the headers and the redirects during the new page load.
If the report says "Served by a service worker", a service worker of the site answered the page. The browser then has no network response, so the extension has no headers or redirects to show.
Why does INP show "Interact with the page first"?
INP measures how quickly the page reacts to you. The extension can measure it only after you click, tap or type on the page. Do that, then look at the popup again. The values update live.
Why does a report say "This report could not be loaded"?
Close the popup and open it again.
Why does Show on page not draw anything?
The extension could not draw on this page. Reload the page and turn on Show on page again.
Why are some images, previews or link checks missing?
Offline mode is on. In offline mode, the extension contacts only the host of the page. It does not load images and checks only the links on the same host. See Offline mode.
Domain Rating
Why does the badge show no Domain Rating?
Check these causes:
- Domain Rating lookup or Show Domain Rating on the badge is off in Settings.
- Offline mode is on.
- The tab is in an incognito window.
- The site is an IP address,
localhostor a private network name. - VitalSentinel has no Domain Rating for the domain.

Account and VitalSentinel data
Why do I not see my VitalSentinel data?
Check these causes:
- You are not signed in. The VitalSentinel item in the sidebar shows a lock.
- The domain is not in one of the workspaces that you selected when you signed in.
- Offline mode is on.
- You added the domain in the app less than one hour ago. The extension keeps your domain list for up to one hour.

What do the error messages mean?

Why can I not click Watch this page?
Only workspace owners and admins can add or remove watched pages. If the extension says "Watched-page limit reached", the workspace uses all the watched pages of its plan. Stop watching some pages in Page Monitoring, or change to a higher plan. See Plans and limits.
JavaScript switcher
Why does the Alt+Shift+Q shortcut do nothing?
Another extension or the browser can use the same shortcut. Open Settings, go to Keyboard shortcuts and click Change shortcuts. Check the shortcut for "Turn JavaScript on or off for this site", or set a new one.
