Each workspace has its own subscription plan. Manage billing, view usage, and upgrade or downgrade as needed.

The Free plan's single Synthetic location is Google's Servers. Higher tiers add Custom Pods on top of Google's Servers (Lite: +1, Standard: +2, Advanced: +4).

Viewing Current Plan

  1. Click Billing in the workspace sidebar
  2. See your current plan, status, and renewal date
  3. View usage overview with progress bars

Usage Tracking

Monitor your resource consumption in the Usage Overview section:

Usage Indicators

Progress bars show usage status:

  • Green - Normal usage
  • Yellow - Approaching limit (75%+)
  • Red - At or near limit (90%+)

Upgrading Your Plan

When to Upgrade

Consider upgrading when:

  • Approaching domain limits
  • Reaching event limits
  • Need faster uptime checks
  • Need longer data retention

How to Upgrade

  1. Click Billing in the workspace sidebar
  2. Find the plan you want in Available Plans
  3. Click Upgrade
  4. Confirm the upgrade

Upgrade Billing

  • New plan activates immediately
  • You're credited for unused time on current plan
  • Difference is charged to your payment method

Downgrading Your Plan

When You Can Downgrade

You can downgrade if:

  • Current usage fits within lower plan limits
  • You don't need higher-tier features

What Happens

When downgrading:

  • Current plan remains active until end of billing period
  • New plan takes effect on next billing date
  • You can cancel the scheduled change anytime before it takes effect

How to Downgrade

  1. Click Billing in the workspace sidebar
  2. Find the plan you want in Available Plans
  3. Click Downgrade
  4. Confirm the scheduled change

A banner will appear showing the scheduled plan change and effective date. Click Keep Current Plan to cancel the downgrade.

If your usage exceeds the new plan's limits, you may need to reduce usage before the downgrade takes effect.

Payment Methods & Invoices

Payment methods and invoices are managed through the Stripe billing portal.

Accessing the Billing Portal

  1. Click Billing in the workspace sidebar
  2. Click the Manage button to update payment methods
  3. Click the Invoices button to view and download invoices

The Stripe portal opens in a new tab where you can:

  • Add, update, or remove payment methods
  • View all past invoices
  • Download invoice PDFs
  • Update billing information

Failed Payments

If a payment fails:

  1. A "Payment Required" banner appears on the billing page
  2. Click Update Payment to fix the issue
  3. Update your payment method in the Stripe portal
  4. Payment will be retried automatically

Canceling Subscription

Before Canceling

Consider:

  • Downgrading to a lower plan instead
  • What happens to your data after the grace period
  • Notifying team members

How to Cancel

  1. Click Billing in the workspace sidebar
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Review what happens when you cancel
  4. Click Yes, Cancel Subscription to confirm

After Canceling

  • Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period
  • No further charges after that
  • You can resubscribe anytime to restore access
  • If not resubscribed within the grace period, all data will be permanently deleted

  • 5 CrUX URLs
  • 3 Synthetic URLs (1 location – Google's Servers)
  • 3 Inspector tests/month
  • 5-minute uptime checks
  • Daily synthetic tests
  • 6-month data retention

Free Workspaces

Each account can have 1 free workspace.

Upgrading from Free

  1. Click Billing in the workspace sidebar
  2. Find the plan you want in Available Plans
  3. Click Subscribe
  4. Complete payment in Stripe checkout
  5. Start using additional features immediately

Advanced Plan

For Large Organizations

The Advanced plan is designed for teams with high-volume needs:

  • 50 domains
  • 5M RUM page views/month
  • 50M analytics events/month
  • 5,000 CrUX URLs
  • 250 Synthetic URLs across 5 locations (Google's Servers + 4 Custom Pods)
  • Synthetic monitoring as frequent as every 8 hours
  • 1-minute uptime checks
  • 500 Inspector tests/month
  • 24-month data retention

FAQ

Is there a free trial?

The free plan serves as a trial. You can monitor one domain indefinitely at no cost.

Can I change plans anytime?

Yes, you can upgrade instantly or schedule a downgrade for the next billing cycle.

What happens if I exceed limits?

You'll receive warnings as you approach limits. If exceeded, some features may be limited until you upgrade or reduce usage.

Do unused events roll over?

No, event limits reset each billing cycle and don't accumulate.

How is billing calculated?

Monthly plans are billed at the start of each cycle. Annual plans are billed yearly at a discounted rate.

Do you offer refunds?

No, we do not offer refunds. The free workspace plan serves as a way to test VitalSentinel before purchasing a paid plan. You can cancel your subscription at any time and continue using the service until the end of the current billing period.
