# Synthetic Monitoring: Pages

The **Pages** card on the Synthetic Monitoring Overview lists every page you test, with its lab results on **Phone** and **Desktop**. Owners and admins also add pages, change the schedule and locations of a page, and remove pages here. There is no separate settings page for Synthetic Monitoring.

## Before you start [#before-you-start]

- To open the card, select **Synthetic Monitoring** in the domain sidebar and scroll down to **Pages**.
- Workspace owners and admins can add, edit and remove pages. Members see the card read-only.
- The number of pages, the schedules and the locations depend on your plan. See [Plans and limits](/workspace/plans-and-limits).

## Columns of the Pages card [#columns-of-the-pages-card]

Each figure cell of the Synthetic Monitoring **Pages** card shows the **Phone** figure first, then the **Desktop** figure.

| Column | What it shows |
|--------|---------------|
| **Page** | The page address. Chips show **Homepage** or **Paused**. |
| **Score** | The Lighthouse performance score: the average of the tests in the date range. |
| **LCP**, **TTFB**, **CLS** | The value that 3 out of 4 tests of this page in the date range reach or do better than. |
| **Clicks** | Google clicks for the page in the dates you selected, from Google Search Console. |

The list starts with the slowest phone score. Click a column header to sort by it. Sorting uses the phone figure. Click a row to open its [Test details](/synthetic-monitoring/test-details).

A page without a test yet shows **First test pending**. A cell without a test in the date range says **No test of this page in the date range.**

### The facts of a page [#the-facts-of-a-page]

Hover the information icon (**About these tests**) next to a page address to see its facts:

- **How often**: the schedule of the page, for example **Daily**.
- **Tested from**: the location, or the number of places the page is tested from.
- **Last test**: the date and time of the newest test, or **Pending**.
- **Tests so far**: the number of tests.

If you compare periods, the facts also show if the phone figures got better or worse, for example **Better by 12%**. A paused page shows **Paused, not tested**.

### The Clicks column [#the-clicks-column]

The **Clicks** column of the Synthetic Monitoring **Pages** card needs [Google Search Console](/connect/search-console). If it is not connected, the card shows **See how many Google clicks each page earns** with **Connect Google Search Console**. Clicks show you which slow pages matter most.

## Filter the pages [#filter-the-pages]

The **Filter** button in the header of the Synthetic Monitoring **Pages** card opens **Filter pages**. The filters narrow the table only. The verdict and the **Lab results over time** card always show all pages. You can filter by:

- **Page**: part of the page address.
- **Score**, **LCP status**, **TTFB status**, **CLS status**: **Good**, **Needs improvement**, **Poor** or **Not measured**. The filter uses the phone figure over the dates in the bar.
- **Status**: **Tested**, **First test pending** or **Paused**.
- **Schedule**: **Every 8 hours**, **Every 12 hours** or **Daily**.

If no page matches, the card shows **No matching pages**.

## Add pages [#add-pages]

Owners and admins add pages from the **Pages** card of Synthetic Monitoring.

1. On the **Pages** card, click **Add pages**.
2. In **Pages**, enter one full address on each line, for example `https://example.com/pricing/`.
3. In **Frequency**, select how often to test the pages.
4. In **Locations**, select one or more locations.
5. Click **Add page** (or **Add pages** for more than one).

The first test runs soon after you add a page. Each address must start with `https://`. Pages that you already test show under **Already monitored**.

### Frequency and locations [#frequency-and-locations]

The **Frequency** list shows only the schedules that your plan includes: **Every 8 hours**, **Every 12 hours** or **Daily**.

The **Locations** field shows how many locations you selected and your plan's maximum, for example **1/3**. The Free plan offers only **Google's Servers**. You must select at least one location. If you select too many, a message says how many locations your plan covers.

### Worth testing [#worth-testing]

The **Worth testing** card shows your busiest pages that you do not test yet, with their Google clicks or visits in 28 days. A lab test shows what to fix where it matters most. Click **Test** on a row to open **Add pages** with that address.

## Edit the schedule and locations of a page [#edit-the-schedule-and-locations-of-a-page]

1. On the **Pages** card, find the page.
2. In the **Actions** column, click the edit button (**Edit frequency and locations**).
3. In **Edit page settings**, change **Frequency** or **Locations**.
4. Click **Save changes**.

You can also change the schedule from the test details. Click the schedule chip next to the page title, for example **Daily · 1 location**. See [Test details](/synthetic-monitoring/test-details#the-page-header).

## Remove a page [#remove-a-page]

<Callout type="warn">
When you remove a page, VitalSentinel permanently deletes all its tests, and no new tests run.
</Callout>

1. On the **Pages** card, find the page.
2. In the **Actions** column, click the delete button (**Delete this page**).
3. In **Delete this page**, click **Delete page**.

## Paused pages [#paused-pages]

A page shows **Paused** when your plan covers fewer pages than you set up. This happens after a plan downgrade. VitalSentinel stopped testing the page, and its figures are from before it stopped. To test it again, remove other pages or upgrade your plan.

## Plan limit [#plan-limit]

The **Pages** card of Synthetic Monitoring shows how many pages you use, as **pages in your workspace**. When you reach the limit, the card shows **Page limit reached**. If you click **Add pages** at the limit, the **Page limit reached** dialog opens with **Upgrade plan**.

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

### Why does a page show First test pending? [#why-does-a-page-show-first-test-pending]

If a page shows **First test pending**, its first test has not finished yet. The first test runs soon after you add a page. Then the page tests on its schedule.

### Why does a page show Paused? [#why-does-a-page-show-paused]

If a page shows **Paused**, your plan now covers fewer pages than you set up. Remove pages that you no longer need, or upgrade your plan. See [Billing](/workspace/billing).

### Why can I select only Google's Servers? [#why-can-i-select-only-googles-servers]

If **Locations** offers only **Google's Servers**, your workspace is on the Free plan. Other locations need a paid plan. See [Billing](/workspace/billing).
