# Creating Your Account



This guide walks you through creating your account and setting up your profile.

## Sign Up [#sign-up]

1. Navigate to [app.vitalsentinel.com](https://app.vitalsentinel.com)
2. Click **Create Account** or **Get Started**
3. Fill in the registration form:
   * **Email** - Your email address (used for login and notifications)
   * **Password** - Create a strong password
   * **Confirm Password** - Re-enter your password
4. Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
5. Click **Create Account**

  If you received a workspace invitation, use the link in your email to register. This will automatically add you to the inviting workspace.

## Email Verification [#email-verification]

After registering, you'll need to verify your email:

1. Check your inbox for an email from VitalSentinel
2. Click the **Verify Email** button in the email
3. You'll be redirected to the login page

  Didn't receive the email? On the confirmation screen shown right after you sign up, check your spam folder or click "Resend verification email".

## First Login [#first-login]

After verifying your email:

1. Enter your email and password
2. Click **Sign In**
3. You'll be guided through creating your first workspace

## Setting Up Your Profile [#setting-up-your-profile]

After logging in, customize your profile:

1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner
2. Select **Settings**
3. Update your profile information:
   * **First Name** and **Last Name**
   * **Timezone** - Used for displaying dates and scheduling reports
   * **Theme** - Choose Light, Dark, or System

  Your profile picture is pulled from Gravatar based on your email address. Update it at [gravatar.com](https://gravatar.com).

## Security Settings [#security-settings]

We recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security:

1. Go to **Settings** → **Security**
2. Click **Enable Two-Factor Authentication**
3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.)
4. Enter the verification code
5. Save your backup codes in a secure location

## Email Preferences [#email-preferences]

Configure what notifications you receive:

1. Go to **Settings** → **Email Preferences**
2. Choose your notification preferences
