# Profile

Your account belongs to you, not to a workspace. The account **Profile** page holds your name, your email address, your profile picture and your time zone.

## Before you start [#before-you-start]

- To open the page, click your avatar at the top right and click **User settings**. The page opens with the account settings sidebar: **Account**, **API** and **Privacy**.
- Every person can change their own profile. The profile applies to all workspaces that you belong to.

## Name [#name]

The **Name** card sets how you appear to your teammates.

1. In **First name** and **Last name**, enter your name.
2. Click **Save name**. To undo your change, click **Cancel**.

The message **Name saved** confirms the change.

### Email address [#email-address]

The **Email address** field shows the email you sign in with. You cannot change it. The help text says "It signs you in and cannot be changed once your account exists." To use another email address, contact support.

## Picture and time zone [#picture-and-time-zone]

The **Picture and time zone** card has two settings.

### Profile picture [#profile-picture]

**Profile picture** comes from Gravatar, if you have a Gravatar picture for your email address. VitalSentinel loads it through its own servers. If you have no Gravatar picture, VitalSentinel shows your initial. You cannot upload a picture in VitalSentinel.

### Time zone [#time-zone]

**Time zone** sets the time zone for every date and chart in the app. Select your time zone from the list. VitalSentinel saves it immediately and shows **Time zone saved**.

## Other items in the user menu [#other-items-in-the-user-menu]

The user menu (your avatar at the top right) also has these items:

- **Workspace**: your current workspace, your role and your domain count. Click the settings icon to open the workspace [Settings](/workspace/settings).
- **Create workspace**: start a new workspace. See [Create a workspace](/getting-started/account/create-workspace).
- **Documentation**: open these docs.
- **Cookie choices**: change your cookie consent.
- **Privacy mode**: blur domain names and other private data on the screen, for example when you share your screen.
- **Theme**: select **Light**, **Dark** or **System** for the colors of the app.
- **Log out**: sign out of VitalSentinel.

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

### Why can I not change my email address? [#why-can-i-not-change-my-email-address]

The email address signs you in, so you cannot change it after you create the account. Contact support if you must use another address.

### Why are the times in the app wrong? [#why-are-the-times-in-the-app-wrong]

The app shows all times in the time zone of your profile. Open **Profile** and select the correct **Time zone**.

### How do I change my profile picture? [#how-do-i-change-my-profile-picture]

Add or change your picture on Gravatar for the email address of your account. If you have no Gravatar picture, VitalSentinel shows your initial.
